:) This reminds me of a brilliant book I read once, ‘Tracks’: ‘A cult classic with an ever-growing audience, Tracks is the brilliantly written and frequently hilarious account of a young woman’s odyssey through the deserts of Australia, with no one but her dog and four camels as companions. Davidson emerges as a heroine who combines extraordinary courage with exquisite sensitivity.’

From the trees come the paper and on the paper comes the printed words and from the binding of paper comes the book. Australian artist Kylie Stillman brings us full circle with her incredible book carvings. In Stillman’s world the trees come from paper and the birds that once lived in those trees are back nesting between words.

Australian artist Konstantin Dimopoulos paints urban trees blue (with environmentally safe paint) to raise awareness of global deforestation. Melbourne, Richmond, Vancouver and Virginia have all hosted his Blue Trees project and next week it’s going to be in Seattle. More info on 4Culture and Treehugger.
