Nail and bolt rings by citizenobjects These rings are hand forged from 100+ year old square nails. All of my nails are pulled by me from houses undergoing renovation in New Orleans’ Historic Bywater neighborhood. All nails show signs of age and use, each one being unique. Edges are smooth and worn, making this ring extremely comfortable to wear. Iron is blackened, buffed to bring out highlights and sealed with museum wax

Belt Buckles by citizenobjects We NEVER destroy anything that is fixable, usable, or has innate value- EVER! All parts used in the creation of our art are things that truly no longer function properly as/in their intended use!

Full Moon Steel Buckle Full moon buckle made from recycled freeze floats (engine parts). The steel has been ‘cratered’ with a torch and then brushed to a shiny steel finish. The fire scale remains in areas which mimic the coloration of the moon. Unique texture creates a moon-like surface- a signature metal finish of mine! This process means every buckle will be unique. We are also offering this buckle in any moon phase. To achieve this effect, the steel is blackened to reveal the shape of the phase.

Stained Glass Window Pendants Unique pendant crafted from non-traditional materials: hand cut stained glass, copper foil and antique steel screen. The antique heater screen dates to the 1920’s and is hand cut to create a ‘cage’ for the piece of stained glass. Each piece of glass is hand cut, wrapped in copper foil to finish the edges and then trapped between the two layers of screen. The bail is created out of individual links of old window chain. All sharp edges are sanded smooth and steel is sealed with gloss clear coat.

a-mini-a-day:

I had to gather my thoughts and calm myself enough to post this.
Go to the shop of MuffaMiniatures.  Go there for me and tell me about it, because I can’t handle it.

Valerie Hammond has always been drawn to places and objects that are full of mystery. The expressive and devotional qualities of church shrines, ex-votos, and Asian art ranging from Tibetan medical drawings to Buddhist sculptures serve as inspiration for the artist.

My name is Hollie and I live in Chattanooga with my husband and two children. I seem to be addicted to the most complicated form of recycling and in Tennessee you’re never more than a few minutes from an antique store. On the best days I’m found up to my elbows in steamer trunks piled with scraps of crumbling paper, dusty, tattered books stacked to the ceiling. I bring it all back here and give it a second life. I always have the forest, fairy tales and music close to me so that comes out the most.

Alongside the money tree at Becky Falls is the following description:

“Nobody knows the exact origin of the Money Tree, but local legend has it that many years ago, this path was the main route from the Moor to Bovey Tracey. It is said that a huge serpent lived in the brook and ate the occasional unsuspecting traveller. In order to ensure safe passage, the pixies would apply an invisibility charm to any traveller, so long as they paid a small toll by placing a coin in the tree. This ensured safe passage. However, if you take a coin from the tree you will incur the wrath of the pixies.”
