Animal Paw Prints Pledge
Various animals at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo pledged their dedication to animal conservation by dipping their paws, flippers, webbed feet, and razor-sharp talons into paint and leaving their mark. Just look at that penguin hopping, he’s so happy. Did you even know penguins could hop? I thought they just waddled everywhere. Is he aware he cant fly? I hope that penguin has a nice day.

I shot portraits of 600 girls and staff at Havergal College in Toronto, focusing on their eyes. The idea to create a tree out of the images came about from a short brainstorm session with students in the art club. They were interested in ideas of representing the school population as a whole and giving a nod to where the school is physically located – amongst a beautifully landscaped tree filled acreage. As much of my work deals with inclusion and I like breaking down ideas to their simplest form, the idea to create a tree using the girls eyes seemed to make complete sense and satisfied everyone’s various interests in the project. 3,600 eyes total.

The fuzzy little caterpillar munches holes in his leaf, climbs into his cozy chrysalis and later emerges as a beautiful butterfly who sips nectar from a flower and lays teeny-tiny eggs on the leaf of the host plant. From toymaker MuddyFeet

I have just come across several clutches of dragon eggs, quite by chance. I am not sure I have the time required to hatch these little beasties, so I am offering them up… No, no, they are quite harmless… From toymaker MuddyFeet

Felted lights by Hélène Magnússon in Reykjavik
My neighbour had wondered all sumer what beautiful red flowers I was growing in my window. When winter darkness came back, I lightened the flowers. My neighbour couldn´t believe her eyes and I sold her my first ever felted light. Since then, I´ve been making quite a lot of them in all sorts of colors.
Each flower is handmade with the unique Icelandic wool: it shines, gives a warm light and is not flammable. I take a particular care in making flowers in different shapes and sizes in order to give the light liveliness.
